So much can change within a week. I walked into my class on Monday fully intending to create something which had links to my DIGC330 class, possibly looking at rebranding a company to market them for an asian audience. By the time I walked out, although I still planned to brand an identity, it was no longer focused anything near my original idea.
For my major project, I will be rebranding ‘Mind the Windows‘. Currently set up through a wordpress account, the news style website for the informed cricket fan doesn’t communicate the professional identity it seeks to portray. Instead the site comes across as an amateur blog about cricket, which in turn, impacts the assumption about the articles, resulting in a preconception that articles are not sufficiently informed nor well-researched. I aim to solve this problem through the creation of a logo, rather than a default template font from wordpress; design of a new website (to be coded by Mark Hughes), and a system for promoting their work via social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. The rebrand will aim to improve the way the site operates, creating a more aesthetically pleasing platform with an improved navigational system, in order to attract a community of like minded cricket enthusiasts, building an audience for the website.
