Exploring appropriation possibilities of this image of Freddie Flintoff – the guy who was quoted for saying “Mind the windows, Tino!”
The aim was to attempt to visualise Freddie in a stained glass window of sorts. Unfortunately, the results were not the idea image. The best iteration was the first one (with the full background), however the Flintoff reference was unclear. Another issue I had was that the literal window interpretation seemed too obvious, and resulted in this tacky sculpture like image, which could pass as ice or water, rather than resembling a window in the end.
The final conclusion was to not continue with this iteration for the logo as it did not suit the direction the brand identity was heading.
Exploring the concept of a window and cricket ball.
I wanted to see if I could visualise a physical window and have it make sense. The end result did not allude to the real topic of the website enough for a satisfying logo, and the physical window was scrapped.
Cricket Ball logo exploration. Although the window and cricket ball idea did not result in a suitable logo, it made me consider utilising a cricket ball in the logo.
Upon further advice from Gregor, I removed the glass and refined the stitching so that it was much more detailed.
The final logo in this style has a few variations to suit different contexts, all utilising the cricket ball as the main feature of attraction.
