THE END OF THE WORLD – part 1

A bit of thought poetry inspired by a conversation with my Dad about his insistence that he is going to be the only one in our family safe from the government because he doesn’t have Facebook.  It of course lead to a wonderful conversation about conspiracy theories, particularly his strong belief that Hand Sanitiser will be what destroys the world.

This is only part one, because I think this could evolve into something further.

People assume that the world will end in a BANG!

BUT MY DAD SAYS THEY’RE WRONG.

The apocolyptic predictions and beliefs make for great imagination:
Death by Fire;
Death by Ice;
Death by Water;
Death by Life –
Wars,
Global Warming,
An Ice Age,
The Sun Explodes.

BUT MY DAD SAYS THEY’RE WRONG.

The future also holds possibility and people fear it too leads to the end:
Robots taking over;
Biotechnology reaching the wrong hands;
A black hole opens from a particle accelorator;
and other dystopian like ideas.

BUT MY DAD SAYS THEY’RE WRONG.

He believes the world will end in a whisper,
Through misplaced trust that we know all there is to know
As the world continues to evolve around us,
But we are too proud to notice.
He believes it will come because Bacteria Evolve,
To resist hand sanitizer.
